小さな先生達
キイロさん（年中）の保育参観が
2日間にわたっておこなわれました。
キイロさんが
日頃お仕事しているモンテッソーリ教具、
教材の使い方を伝える日です。
Yellow class (4,5 year olds) open class observation was held over two days.
It was a day for Yellow class to demonstrate how they use the Montessori materials and learning tools they work with regularly.
その前に・・・
ピンクちゃん（年少）、ムラサキさん（年長）が
練習相手にきてくれました。
「これは〇〇のお仕事です。」
「やってみますか？」
Before that…
Pink class (3,4 year olds) and Purple class (5,6 year olds) came to act as practice partners.
“This job is called ___.”
“Would you like to try it?”
扱う教具の全ての名称を伝えたあと
「見ててください」
はっきりと大きな声で伝えます。
そこから言葉ではなく、
動きで教具の使い方を提示します。
After stating the names of all the materials being used, they clearly say in a loud voice:
“Please watch.”
From there, instead of words, they present how to use the materials through movement.
さあ、ピンクちゃんに伝わるでしょうか？
キイロさんの緊張感ある雰囲気に
ピンクちゃんはキイロさんを真似て
隣に姿勢よく座ります。
Now then―will the message reach the children in the Pink class?
Sensing the tension in Yellow class, Pink class imitates them and sits neatly beside them with good posture.
お仕事の動作を見学し、
「やってみてください」
の声掛けを合図に、いよいよ
教具、教材を使います。
They observe the work movements, and at the cue:
“Please try,”
they finally begin using the materials.
キイロさんも昨年ピンクさんだった時に
同じ経験をしています。
The Yellow class had the same experience last year when they themselves were in Pink class.
自分が先生としてわかるように丁寧に
そして、ピンクさんの反応を見て
優しく寄り添い、できないところは
少しお手伝いをする姿も見られました。
They carefully explain so that their partner can understand,
watching Pink class’s reactions, gently staying close,
and offering a little help where needed when something cannot be done.

次はムラサキさんが隣に座っての練習時間です。
普段の生活では教えてもらうことが多いので
自分がムラサキさん（年長）に教える立場に
なるのもまた緊張します。
Next was practice time with Purple class sitting beside them.
In daily life they are usually the ones being taught, so becoming the one who teaches Purple class (older year) is also nerve-wracking.
しかし、ムラサキさんはキイロさんを
尊重し、静かに見守ります。
誰も「ちがうよ。こうだよ」
と言う子はいません。
ムラサキさんもキイロさんだった時の事を
思い出しているかのようです。
However, Purple class respects Yellow class and watches quietly.
No one says, “That’s wrong―do it this way.”
It is as if Purple class remembers when they themselves were once in Yellow class.
キイロさんを先生として同じように
お仕事をしていました。
このように異年齢との練習で
またひとつ自分の伝え方に自信を
持つことができたキイロさん。
They treat Yellow class as the teacher and carry out the work in the same way.
Through this kind of mixed-age practice, Yellow class gained another measure of confidence in how to communicate and teach.

参観当日、それはそれは見事でしたよ。
保護者の皆様も日頃とは違う
自分のお子様の姿に感動し、
良い参観のひとときとなりました。
On the day of the observation, their performance was truly wonderful.
Parents were moved to see a side of their children different from everyday life, making it a very meaningful observation time.
